Unbought

Unbought imagines an alternate American history in which evidence of election tampering changes the outcome of the 2024 presidential election and Kamala Devi Harris becomes the 47th President of the United States.

Told through the eyes of international correspondent Vivienne Marchand, the story chronicles the first year of an imagined Harris presidency—not as political fantasy, but as a speculative docudrama about roads not taken. Infrastructure, health reform, immigration enforcement, foreign conflicts, and the ordinary machinery of government become the terrain through which Marchand observes a country discovering how differently history might have unfolded.

Written as reflective reportage, Unbought uses alternate history as a mirror: an exploration of what might have been, and of the choices through which democracies create their futures.
